10th ANNUAL LAKE LURE NEW YEAR’S DAY POLAR PLUNGE

The Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge announces its 10th Annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge at the public beach in Lake Lure, North Carolina. 
Register here online now or in person, beginning at 9 am on the day of the event. 
The Plunge will begin at 12 noon.  Cash prizes for best costume and other categories, including oldest and youngest plunger, as well as longest distance traveled. 
In Celebration of the 10^th Anniversary, a custom designed Commemorative Medal will be given to each plunger.

Plan to stay for our New Year's Day gathering by the fire pits following the Plunge.
Proceeds from this event benefit The Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge and Hickory Nut Gorge First Responders. 
Other events such as a fun run and tug-a-war are being planned for pre-plunge activities.
