CANCELLED - 2021 New Year's Day Polar Plunge

CANCELLATION ANNOUNCEMENT- NEW YEAR'S EVE BONFIRE & POLAR PLUNGE

It is with a heavy heart that we must deliver the news cancelling our New Year's Eve Bonfire & Beach Party and the Polar Plunge. This decision was not made lightly. However, since COVID-19numbers continue to peak, and potentially peaking again the week of New Year's, we are choosing to make the commitment to keep our community, volunteers, spectators, and participants safe and healthy. 

The firework show will still take place in Morse Park. PLEASE NOTE, the time will be moved to 8:00 pm, versus 9:00 pm. This was made possible through the partnership between the Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure Inn & Properties. We will not be publicizing this but encourage our locals to view from your cars in front of the beach or in Morse Park parking lot, or from the privacy of your home if a view is possible. 

To the attendees who have already purchased tickets, you have the option of donating the funds to the Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge or requesting a refund. Since there were costs incurred with no opportunity to recover, your donation would be greatly appreciated.  

Nonetheless, if you would like a refund, please email us at info@hickorynutgorge.com by 12/31/20. We have your email from the purchase of your ticket and will send a confirmation when we process the reimbursement.
