    BOOKS AND BITES UPDATE

Unfortunately, we have cancelled our June 17th Books and Bites with Susan Zurenda……BUT, she has rescheduled for Wed. Aug. 5th.

As we hopefully move into Phase 3 of the Governor’s plan, we are still planning on holding our last 3 Books and Bites.  We are working with Patrick at the Lake Lure Inn to provide a safe environment.  Possibly having a plated lunch and our author outside under the covered veranda at a reduced capacity.  We will keep you updated.  Mark your calendars!

Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig and Karen White- “All the Ways We Said Goodbye” on Thurs. July 9th.

Susan Zurenda- “Bells for Eli” on Wed. Aug.5th

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Our membership drive was interrupted due to the covid 19 virus and the closure of the Library.  Many of you had already renewed your membership or become new members, Thank You!.  We would love the rest of you to renew or join.  We have had to cancel two Books and Bites events which is our largest fundraiser.

The Friends of the Library help to support and promote our library and all its' services to the Lake Lure community.  We host fundraising events throughout the year to help pay for materials, technology and programming.  We promote the library through community events, newsletters and social media.  The Friends use their time, talents and funds to further the mission of the library.

You can become a Friend of the Mountains Branch Library for as little as $15. for an Individual Annual Membership, $30 for a Family Annual membership or you may choose to become a Lifetime member for $100 per Individual or $150 per Family.

Attached is a membership form.  You can mail it in to the library along with your check or you can stop by the library when convenient.
