The Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) recently opened the MAHEC Family Health Center at 146 Nesbitt Ridge at Lake Lure’s new Professional Park on Hwy 9. The Open House occasion brought out more than 100 people to celebrate the long-awaited medical facility here in Lake Lure.
Land was donated for the MAHEC Family Health Center by Mary Ann Dotson Silvey in memory of her parents, Mary C. and Martin L. Nesbitt, Sr., and to honor the service of Dr. and Mrs. William Burch in Lake Lure and Dr. and Mrs. Harry Summerlin, Jr. of MAHEC in Asheville.
